Three delegations comprising a total of 38 woman police officers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao again got together in Hong Kong early this month to deliberate matters of common interest and concern, in particular drug abuse by youth.

The officers, 12 each from Guangdong and Macao and 14 from Hong Kong, were attending the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Woman Police Officers' Annual Exchange from November 7 to 9. Marine Regional Commander Debbie Chang Mo-see headed the Hong Kong delegation.

The Guangdong delegation was led by Ms Luo Juan, Deputy Director General of the Guangdong Public Security Department, while the Macao delegation was headed by Ms Kwok Fong-mei, Acting Deputy Director of Macao Public Security Force Affairs Bureau.

For the past six years, the annual exchange has provided a forum for the participants to catch up with the latest developments in policing, discuss issues of mutual concern, and enhance liaison and co-operation among woman police officers in the three places.

The rather hectic three-day exchange began on November 7 when the visiting delegates, accompanied by their Hong Kong counterparts, watched a demonstration at the Tactics Training Complex at the Police College. They also met Acting Commissioner Fung Siu-yuen and Director of Personnel and Training Tang Hau-sing on the same day.

The following morning, the three delegations moved to the Multi-purpose Hall at PHQ to discuss, and share their views and experiences about, drug abuse by youth.

The exchange concluded the next day with a visit to Marine Headquarters where the delegates watched a drill by the Small Boat Division.

During their visit, the visiting delegates also met Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Yam Tat-wing and Director of Operations Tsang Wai-hung.
