Big thank for police volunteers |

The Hong Kong Millennium Lion Club has thanked the "Rainbow Police Volunteer Group" for assisting in planning and carrying out a charity project to donate furniture to the elderly living in the Fu Cheong Estate in Sham Shui Po. After the club had collected various pieces of furniture from its members, club chairman, Mr Terry Wu, approached Chief Inspectors Chan Kin-kwok and Lau Chi-pui from the police volunteer group for assistance in running the charity project. The officers immediately obliged. Mr Wu said police volunteers had offered valuable assistance throughout the project, helping out with transport and venue decoration for the opening ceremony, paying home visits to assess the needs of the elderly and finally transporting furniture to the elderly's homes. During the home visits, police volunteers also brought some souvenirs to warm the hearts of the elderly. "As a whole, the project was a fantastic success, thanks to the big help given by the Rainbow Police Volunteer Group. Their spirit of service aligns with our motto: 'We Serve the Community'," Mr Wu noted.
