The Airport Security Unit (ASU) recently retained the title of the fund-raising Sedan Chair Race for the Force, beating the traditional rival, the Fire Services Department.

A team of 14 ASU officers, led by Chief Inspector Lai Kar-chi, finished the race in 13 minutes and 50 seconds.

For the past 33 years, the annual race was held on the Peak to raise funds for the Maltilda Hospital, and the Force has won the championship for many years. Being tasked for the first time with the job of retaining victory, ASU officers started training as early as four months prior to the race. Cheered on by their Airport District Commander Lui Hon-kwok at the scene, they managed to retain the title for the Force.
