New Honorary College Advisors appointed

Commissioner Tang King-shing presented Certificates of Appointment to three new Honorary Advisors of the Police College on January 17. The three new Advisors are Mr Fung Siu-yuen, former Deputy Commissioner (Management); Dr Lobo H T Louie, Associate Professor of the Hong Kong Baptist University, and Dr Wong In-jea, an experienced Government Chemist.

The fourth new Honorary College Advisor is Mr Tang Wing-hung, a retired Chief Court Prosecutor of the Department of Justice, who was unable to attend the certificate presentation ceremony because of business commitments.

"It is our honour to serve as Honorary College Advisor. We will contribute our best to the College in future," said the new Advisors.

The Honorary College Advisors and Associates (HCAA) Scheme began in January 2006 with a view to recruiting external experts as Advisors and internal experts as Associates to provide professional advice and conduct training programmes for the Police College. All HCAAs have been appointed on a two-year term. The new appointments have brought the total number of the HCAAs to 19 - 14 external experts and five serving Force members. These experts bring in expertise in various fields, including leadership and strategic management, physical training, forensic science in document examination, law and court procedures, paramedic training, social and political sciences, and psychological competencies.
