The resident said the car her husband was driving suddenly broke down in the busy Garden Road, causing traffic congestion. As the resident's husband failed to restart his car, SPC Tao quickly provided assistance, first resolving the congestion by directing traffic, restarting the car and then moving it into a nearby car park. He also summoned a tow truck on the motorist's behalf before continuing with his other duties. In a letter to CP, the resident described SPC Tao as "an example of Hong Kong's finest at their best". |

Resident |
The resident, his wife, and their six-year-old son headed for the Big Wave Bay in a motorised sampan, but the vessel capsized in very rough seas. The family managed to reach shore but could not leave the scene because the sampan's engine had broken down. To make matters worse, big waves prevented a police rescue vessel from reaching the stranded family. Braving big waves and strong wind, officers swam ashore and eventually brought the family to safety. In a letter to PPRB, the resident said his family's ordeal showed that the services provided by the Force are comprehensive, efficient and reliable. |
