A party of over 70 Peruvian Naval Cadets visited Marine Region Headquarters on February 17 to further their education and training. The cadets were given a presentation on the role and duties of Marine Region as well as an inspection tour of a variety of police launches and vessels.

The cadets were impressed with the high-tech and the modern fleet of Marine Region. They are serving onboard the Peruvian Naval Training Ship 'BAP Mollendo' which visited Hong Kong as part of a tour of Pacific rim countries, including Tahiti, China, Japan, Russia and the USA. The trip had dual purposes: training for the cadets as well as a goodwill tour.

Captain Paulo Bernal of 'BAP Mollendo' presented a souvenir plaque to Chief Inspector John Cameron who hosted the visit. Captain Bernal said the visit was very useful in enhancing the maritime knowledge and experience of the cadets as well as in establishing good communication and understanding between Marine Region and the Peruvian Navy.
