Although the Railway District (RAILDIST) and the MTRC belong to two different "systems", they share a common goal - providing a safe and secure railway network free from crime and interruption. Such synergised partnership has served the two agencies' missions well over the years.

Last year, RAILDIST continued engaging the MTRC to help with police work and MTRC staff has rendered excellent assistance in apprehending suspects; locating missing children, wandering old persons and mentally retarded people, and providing timely and useful crime information to the police. On January 31, RAILDIST invited the MTRC management team and 14 frontline staff members to an "Appreciation Letters Presentation Ceremony" to thank them for their proactive assistance to the police in the past year. A lunch followed at the Kowloon East Operations Base Officers' Mess to foster mutual communication.
