Project "Sound of Silence" (SOS) is a crime prevention initiative taken in March 2005 to take care of a target group, Juvenile Protection Section (JPS) supervisees, through various activities and email communication to prevent juvenile crime, reduce recidivism and show the supervisees the care and support of the Force.

In the first quarter of this year, Kowloon East JPS has a total of 1,025 supervisees who have joined Project SOS. A number of companies and organisations are supporting Project SOS by offering courses or book coupons to the supervisees as recognition of their good performances during supervision periods.

In 2006 and 2007, a total of 88 outstanding supervisees were given such recognition at two presentation ceremonies. On June 21, another 15 outstanding supervisees were awarded for their good performances during the 12 months between April 1, last year and March 31, this year.
