To support the Force's Strategic Direction on engaging the community, Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) is striving to forge a closer liaison with the community, and to boost the community's confidence in and understanding of the police. Part of this strategy is to expand the existing community network and visit the management of the public utilities in the District.

At the invitation of "Link 200 Joint Venture Company", YTDIST officers visited the construction site of the Kowloon MTR Southern Link, which, on completion in 2009, will become a traffic hub linking the East and West rails.

Following the visit, Mr David Westwood, Director of the "Link 200 Joint Venture Company", presented a silver plaque to YTDIST and Yau Ma Tei Division in appreciation of their continuous efforts in preventing and detecting cases of theft which occurred on the construction site.
