Song club celebrates 2nd anniversary

Retired Chief Inspector Alan Chan clinched the Chairman's Cup at a singing competition organised by the Hong Kong Police Guitar Folk Song Club at the Kai Tak Operational Base on August 16 to celebrate the club's 2nd anniversary. A total of 18 teams had vied for the cup.

Nr Chan received his prize from the guest of honour, retired Deputy Commissioner Fung Siu-yuen, in front of a large audience of club members and guests.

Attending the contest as judges for the contest at the invitation of Club Chairman Joe Tsang were Chief Superintendent Leung Po-tak, Chief Superintendent Chau Kwok-leung, Senior Superintendent Wong Kwok-wai, and Deputy Director of Music, Police Band, Chief Inspector James Leung Bo-kun.

The club was formed in August 2006 to promote a healthy lifestyle among Force members. Located at the Kai Tak Operational Base where it has two refurbished rooms for practising, the club now has over 60 members.
