The National Police Agency (NPA) of Japan has once again complimented the Narcotics Bureau (NB) for assisting in combating transnational drugs trafficking.

As a result of continuous and relentless efforts by NB's investigators, the NPA apprehended three Hong Kong citizens and two Japanese nationals in Fukuoka and Tokyo during two operations in October 2007 and January this year respectively. A total of 160,000 ecstasy tablets concealed inside a mixer machine and 10 kg of methamphetamine concealed inside a false compartment of a container were also seized during the operations.

On behalf of the NPA, Mr Yukio Matsui, Head of Drug and Firearm Division, presented certificates of appreciation to three NB officers, Chief Inspector Chung Alan, Woman Senior Inspector Chan Kam-kuk, and Woman Police Constable Jaquelina Fernandes in PHQ on September 18.
