To tackle triads' illegal sources of income, the officers earlier raided three triad-controlled storerooms for counterfeit leather goods and wristwatches. They seized a total of 7,007 pieces of counterfeit goods bearing forged trademarks and having a total retail value of $10 million, including handbags, wallets, wristwatches and accessories.

Representatives from the companies concerned called at Kowloon West Regional Headquarters on October 10 and presented a certificate of appreciation to the officers. In particular, the representatives appreciated the officers' efforts and professionalism in protecting intellectual rights and maintaining Hong Kong's reputation as an ideal place for business.

The representatives also pledged to continue assisting the police in stopping triads' illegal income.

Also present at the certificate presentation ceremony were Senior Superintendent Leung Ka-ming, Chief Inspector Chau Hin-hung, Senior Inspector Wilson Yung, Senior Inspector Liu Wing-yip and officers from the RATU.
