NTN Regional Sports Day
New Territories North (NTN) Region's 2008 Regional Sports Day held in the Police Sports and Recreation Club on November 28 saw officers from various Formations pitting against each other in nine-a-side football, three-a-side basketball, badminton, table tennis, tug-of-war, two fun game competitions, and indoor rowing.
Following rounds of tough battles, Tuen Mun District emerged as the biggest winner, claiming triumph in basketball, badminton, football and a fun game competition, while Border District took the table-tennis trophy, NTN Regional Headquarters Team B picked the gold for tug-of-war and indoor rowing, and Yuen Long District won the other fun game competition.
At the prize presentation ceremony, the spectators in high spirits brought the day to a climax with non-stop applause, particularly when NTN Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah presented the Major Unit Trophy to Tuen Mun District and NTN Deputy Regional Commander Peter Hunt handed the Minor Unit Trophy to NTN Regional HQs Team B.
Finally the Sports Day achieved its objective - driving home the message of leading a healthy lifestyle.
