They first watched the parade of officers before the start of the B-shift and a display of police weapons and vehicles, and toured the Report Room. Then the thrill of an abseiling demonstration and performances by police dogs caught their attention and gave them some ideas of the wide range of situations that officers have to face.

The police families were treated to a magic show during a tea reception, where District Commander David Cartwright praised and showed recognition of their loved ones for doing their best in maintaining law and order in the District.
