Further merits for police building
In March 2007, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) modified the "Energy Efficiency Building" certification programme, which aims at promoting best practices in energy management in both the public and private sectors.
After becoming the first police building awarded with an "Energy Efficiency Building" Certificate by the ESMD in December 2007, the Kowloon East Operational Base was further awarded with the certificate last month for complying with the Code of Practice for Energy Efficiency of Lift and Escalator Installation (Lift) to save energy.
