JPC praised for mapping out activities for New Year | |||

Speaking at a cocktail reception that followed the Junior Police Call (JPC) Annual General Meeting at the PHQ Auditorium on January 3, the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, praised the JPC for pushing community services by young people, and grooming them as leaders of society. He pointed out that the JPC now has over 160,000 members and 780 school clubs, indicating that there are wide community support and recognition for the youth programme. He also praised JPC Honorary Presidents and JPC representatives for thrashing out at their AGM interesting and meaningful activities and training programmes for the New Year to tie in with the Government's efforts to tackle abuse of psychotropic substances by young people through publicity and education. Commissioner Tang King-shing also attended the AGM reception as a guest of honour, together with SDG members. |
