The 32nd Mountain Marathon Competition was successfully completed between December 6 and 7, covering Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun. A total of 116 teams participated in various categories, including "Open" with 18 teams; "Senior", five teams; "Ladies", six teams, and "Experience", 88 teams.

Officiating at the starting point was Mr Yeung Hin-sing, an Honorary Chairman of the Police Adventure Club.

The competition took the form of orienteering, and each team, comprising two competitors, brought along camping gear, cooking utensils and hiking equipment, such as compass, whistle and rucksack. Competitors completed about 46 kilometres in two days, with specific checkpoints along the route.

The competition was blessed with sunny weather and breezes. At the end of the competition, the top two places in the Open Team category were worthy winners, finishing the race at close quarters. All team members will have fond memory of this year's stiff competition, the new friends made, the beautiful mountain terrain, sunshine and a clear night sky filled with stars.

Kowloon West Deputy Regional Commander Mr Lo Wai-chung presented prizes as the guest of honour. He commended all competitors for their unswerving determination and encouraged them to maintain a healthy life style so that they would be able to take up the challenges of ever growing police work.
