Shortly after officers had successfully detected two cases of robbery and murder involving sex workers that occurred in late January this year, Director of Operations Koo Sii-hong called at Kowloon West Regional Crime Headquarters on February 17 to praise the officers and boost their morale.

Accompanied by Kowloon West Regional Commander Tang How-kong and Senior Superintendent (Crime) Leung Ka-ming, Mr Koo congratulated the officers on their excellent performances, which resulted in the arrest of a suspect just several days after the second case came to light.

"Your outstanding performance has boosted the public confidence in our ability to detect crime," Mr Koo told the officers. He also encouraged the officers to keep up their good work so as to meet public expectations of the Force.

The investigating team was formed by officers drawn from Kowloon West Region's five Regional Crime Units and the Regional Intelligence Unit.
