Obituary
Retired Superintendent, Mr John Wilkinson, passed away in England on March 28 after a long illness. On learning of the news, Commissioner Tang King-shing sent a letter of condolences to his wife, Valerie, mentioning that her husband would be fondly remembered for the exceptional contributions he made to the Police Tactical Unit whilst serving as a Training Officer between 1978 and his retirement in 1991.
Mr Wilkinson joined the Force as a Sub-inspector in September 1960, and retired in August 1991. He was awarded the Colonial Police Long Service Medal in 1978, and Colonial Police Long Service Medal First Clasp and Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1985.
