"Stay alert! Be careful! Enjoy your visit to Hong Kong" - this is the message of a leaflet produced by Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) to welcome Mainland visitors.

The leaflet gives Mainland visitors a better understanding of the differences in culture and law enforcement between Hong Kong and the Mainland. It contains, among other things, crime prevention advice and a reminder of the common pitfalls for Mainland visitors, such as breaching conditions of stay and bringing prohibited or dutiable goods into Hong Kong.

Two million copies of the leaflet have been supplied to the Mainland authorities for distribution at all visa application offices in Shenzhen. Earlier this month, Acting Chief Superintendent Lee Kwan-hing of Crime Wing attended a ceremony at the Meilin Visa Application Office, Entry and Exit Inspection Administrative Bureau, Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, to deliver the copies to the Shenzhen Police.

Mainland residents generally welcome the leaflet which provides handy tips on crime prevention and useful information such as hotlines of the Consumer Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
