Commissioner Tang King-shing, senior directorate officers, Force members and their families turned out in force on the Physical Fitness and Health Management (PHM) Day held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on May 30 and enjoyed an array of interesting activities and programmes. PHM Day featured exhibitions and booths on tips on various health topics and fitness tests for children to let parents know how fit their kids were. PHM Day also offered seminars on the most popular health topics like Human Swine Flu, sports injuries, healthy diets and medical insurance - all conducted by guests from the Department of Health, doctors and sports expert. What is more, the Hong Kong Society of Medical Professionals and registered physiotherapists provided different kinds of health checks, including cholesterol test, glucose test, tonometer, lung function test and Osteoporosis test. The Shuttlecock Competitions were the centre of attention when a total of 24 teams from different Formations gave their best in the contest. At the end of the breath-taking competition, the PHM Team captured the championship while Lok Ma Chau Division and Airport Security Unit clinched the second and third places respectively. A new event, Physical Fitness Challenge, was introduced this year and the title went to Police Constable Ip Kwok-tung and Woman Police Constable Chung Lok-man, both from Airport Security Unit.
Flag presentation for WPFG 2009
The Flag Presentation Ceremony for WPFG 2009 took place at PSRC on May 31 when Commissioner Tang King-shing presented the Force Flag to Mr Yam, accompanied by the music of a Police Band piper.
Achievements in sports and arts honoured
Among the officers, Police Constable Lam Chak-hung from Stanley Sub-division has clinched the Watson Cup as the overall outstanding athlete in 2008. The winners received their awards from CP.
