Under "Project Long Tin", an anti-youth drug abuse initiative in Yuen Long District (YLDIST), Tin Shui Wai Division (TSWDIV) organised the "Yuen Long Anti-Drug Trophy" friendly soccer tournament early this month. Contesting the trophy were teams from New Territories North (NTN) Regional Headquarters, Crime YLDIST, Yuen Long District Council, and "Tin Shui Wai Sky Horse", which is a TSWDIV volunteer programme to provide football training for non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) JPC members and the youths referred by non-governmental organisations. NTN Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah kicked off the first match and Crime YLDIST eventually won the tournament. After the match, YLDIST Commander Li Kin-fai hosted a buffet dinner at the Yuen Long Officer's Mess for local community leaders and players. He also took the opportunity to update the guests on the Force's commitment to engaging all sectors of the community to address the problems of youth drug abuse. Mr Tang Chun-keung, Chairman of the Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), praised local police commanders and school liaison officers for engaging schools in Yuen Long. An NEC DFCC member, Mr Mohammed Shafi, expressed his appreciation of the efforts by TSW Divisional Commander Wai Hang-mo to organise the tournament, as well as those by his volunteers for the "Tin Shui Wai Sky Horse" project to promote anti-drug abuse messages to the youths in the district.
