A total of 230 guests and volunteers from the Hong Kong Society for the Blind were treated to a mini concert presented by the Police Band when they visited the Police College recently. The concert and other arrangements made by the college gave these special guests a memorable morning.

Conducted by the Director of Music, Superintendent Ng Kam-cheung, the Police Silver Band welcomed the guests with two marching pieces, including "Operation Manhunt", the popular theme song of a fighting crime TV series. The Band also presented a session on introduction of different families of musical instruments, such as Brass, Woodwind and Percussion, for the audience to distinguish the sounds of different instruments.

Following the Silver Band, the Pipes and Drums Band marched in, playing traditional Scottish pipe tunes. Later on, the Drum Solo presented itself in a brand new routine, and the mini concert concluded with a combined performance by the Band and the Pipers, featuring pieces like "Highland Cathedral" and "The Sands of Kuwait", and touching the hearts of everyone in the audience.

After the 30-minute mini concert, the guests had a photo session with members of the Band and tried their hands on different musical instruments. Some of them also bought the Band's latest music compact disc, "Harmony & Passion".
