A group of retired officers at different ranks recently looked back on their days in Emergency Unit Kowloon West (EU KW) with fond memories. Among these special visitors were Mr Stewart Kavanagh (DS MK, 1977-1979), Mr Guy Shirra (CIP EU KW, 1977-1979), Mr Russ Mason, Mr Ian J Stenton, Mr Andy Cheung, Mr Lo Yuk-keung and Mr Giberto Jorge.

The old boys were excited to be back. Seeing little changes in the building itself, they were, however, deeply impressed with the equipment being used by frontline officers. In particular, they were impressed with a demonstration of today's shield tactics that were not used in their old days.

During the visit, the retirees reminisced about their jobs in the 1970s with serving EU officers, who briefed their guests on the policing strategies they are using in their day-to-day jobs.

The visit concluded with Superintendent Annie Fonda of EU KW presenting souvenirs to the special visitors.
