Police Constable Lee Ngan-ho from Tuen Mun Division took part in the 17th World Transplant Games in Gold Coast, Australia, at the end of August, and captured the "Lawn Bowls Singles" title. PC Lee, who received a renal transplant 16 years ago, said: "It was really like a dream because I had all along been behind in the semi-final against the South African player and in the final against the British player. My heartfelt thanks go to the 'Hong Kong Police Lawn Bowls Club' for its full support. The training, equipment, and techniques it had provided for me were excellent." Over 2,000 transplant athletes from 50 countries and regions took part in over 170 events in a bid to express thanks to their organ donors in a tangible way, and to publicise the importance of organ donation for patients.
