Before and after the Christmas and New Year holidays, Traffic Hong Kong Island (T HKI) teamed up with the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Hong Kong and Islands) and the Housing Authority in paying visits to the elderly living alone in public housing estates, in a bid to enhance their awareness of road safety.

Members of the T HKI Road Safety Team and senior staff of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, accompanied by senior road safety ambassadors from elderly centres in Central District, called on over 500 elderly tenants at Tin Wan Estate, Wah Kwai Estate, Tung Lam Court and Hong Tung Estate to deliver road safety messages and souvenirs. The visits also brought the tenants feelings of care and concern during the festive season.

The T HKI Road Safety Team will organise more similar activities for other elderly persons to help achieve the vision: "Zero Accidents on the Road, Hong Kong's Goal".
