police work at Careers Expo

The upcoming Education and Careers Expo 2010 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from February 4 to 7. Different facets of police work with focuses on professionalism, caring and integrity will be showcased at the Expo. Expo visitors interested in joining the Force and the Auxiliary Police are welcome to tour the Police booth.

One of the key facilities at the Expo is a "Mini-range", where officers from Weapon Training Division will demonstrate the safe use of police weapons throughout the four-day exhibition.

Furthermore, eight specialist units of the Force, namely Police Dog Unit, Airport Security Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Emergency Unit, Police Tactical Unit, Crime Prevention Bureau, and Traffic Branch, will also introduce their work and equipment.

To tie in with the publicity of the Expo, Recruitment Division (RECDIV) will hold an "Application Express" on 13/F, Police Headquarters, from January 25 to February 7. RECDIV officers will also man the Police booth to process applications for the posts of Probationary Inspector and Police Constable. Initial screening, such as eyesight test, weight and height measurement, as well as scheduling of written examination or physical fitness test, will be conducted on site.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the Police booth at Hall 1C-E of the HKCEC on February 4 from 10:30 am to 7 pm, February 5 and 6 from 10 am to 7 pm, and February 7 from 10 am to 6 pm.
