A bank has praised officers of the Fraud Division of Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) for their professionalism and efficiency in investigating a bank fraud case in New York, involving the laundering of HK$22 million.

The bank's Regional Director of Investigation (Asia Pacific), recently called at CCB to personally thank the officers, and presented thank you banners to Chief Superintendent Cheung Kwai-kee, Senior Superintendent Lee Wing Kong, Superintendent Ho Ying-foo and Chief Inspector Rod Diaz.

The two culprits in the fraud case were subsequently jailed for 32 months and 50 months at the District Court. The case also saw the recovery of HK$21 million, which was returned to the bank.

With intelligence gleaned by CCB officers, the Nigerian mastermind was arrested in New York.

Another compliment for CCB
