Force wins Green Contest

Chief Inspector (CIP) Andy Naylor of Crime Wing and Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) have won the championship and second place of the Community Chest Green Tips Competition 2010.

CIP Naylor captured the title with an individual entry advocating the benefits of keeping plants at the workplace, while SSPODIST earned the first runner-up award with a formation entry featuring the rooftop garden in Cheung Sha Wan Police Station.

CIP Naylor and Assistant Divisional Commander of Cheung Sha Wan Division, Chung Kai-wing received their awards at the Green Day 2010 Kick-off Ceremony on June 26, and shared their award-winning green tips with other contestants.

The Community Chest Green Day 2010 was held on June 27 and 28. The theme for this year was "Ride Green and Go Green at Work". As part of Green Day 2010, the Green Tips Competition was organised to raise awareness and understanding of environmental protection, while raising funds for the Chest.

The Force participated in both fund raising and the Green Tips Competition to promote sharing of good practices on energy saving and carbon reduction.
