After returning to the USA from a trip to Hong Kong and the Mainland, an American citizen wrote to the Force to praise Police Constables Lee Ho-kwan and Yu Cho-kwok from Railway District for giving him, his girlfriend and her stepmother a big help. The writer said he was "genuinely impressed with the professionalism and courtesy that these two men used to help us".

The letter reads:

On May 18, 2010 we were helped by two of Hong Kong's finest. I am an American citizen who was visiting Hong Kong and Mainland China with my girlfriend and her stepmother. What makes this event special to me is that I only speak English but my girlfriend is Chinese as is her stepmother. Thus they speak Cantonese. As we headed out on our journey from Hong Kong to China, we lost contact with her stepmother. She had a phone but we did not know the number. After filing a missing persons report, the two gentlemen Lee Ho Kwan (PC58773) and Yu Cho Kwok (59058) helped us find her with the use of subway cameras and common sense. Our trip would have been ruined if it had not been for these two officers. As a visitor to Hong Kong and someone who cannot speak Cantonese, I am genuinely impressed with the professionalism and courtesy that these two men used to help us.

I am now back in the USA and I frequently talk about how inviting Hong Kong is to foreigners. To these two men and all of the citizens of Hong Kong I would like to offer my sincere thank you for a fabulous visit.

S. Wells
