Road shows for students |

The Tai Po District Police Community Relations Office held one of a series of road shows in the Carmel Holy Wood Secondary School on July 6, giving around 770 students a better idea of police work and anti-drugs messages. The road show is one of the eight programmes of Project GEN-Y to disseminate anti-drug messages to students. The project was rolled out last year after the problems of youth drug abuse came under spotlight in the district. During the road show, the students crowded display booths set up by the Force, Hong Kong Rugby Football Association, Kadoorie Farm and Cheerever Green Lutheran Organisation. They also attended talks given by officers of the Tai Po District Triad Squad and the Commercial Crime Bureau. Sandy, a Form 4 student, said it was the first time she caught a sight of the weapons used by the Police Tactical Unit, as well as the simulated narcotic drugs on display. While touring the displays, some students also discussed organisation of activities for youth with the two summer interns working at the Police Community Relations Office.
