Commendation and Promotion
Commissioner Tang King-shing presented CP's Commendation to Chief Superintendent (CSP) So Kam-sing and promotion letters to eight officers on July 30.
CSP So has been commended for his outstanding performance in the case in which notorious robber Kwai Ping-hung and an accomplice were arrested in 2003, along with the seizure of an AK-47 assault rifle, seven pistols, two shotguns, seven grenades and over 800 rounds of ammunition. Kwai and his accomplice were sentenced to 24 years' and 10 years' imprisonment respectively by the Court of First Instance.
Presented with promotion letters were Mr Stephen Verralls and Mr Paul Lau, promoted to CSP; Mrs Mak Lau Wai-mun and Mr Chung Sze-pong, to Senior Superintendent; and Mr Liu Shing-bun, Mr Wun Chun-leung, Mr Wong Chun and Mr Cheung Man-ching, to Superintendent.
Mr Cheuk Hau-yip, who has been promoted to Senior Superintendent, was on overseas vacation leave on the day of the presentation.
