Chief Superintendent Li Kin-fai hosted a tea reception for media representatives on August 9, the first day of his new job as Head of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB).

Chatting with the representatives on matters of police relations with the public and the media, Mr Li reiterated that the Force respects press freedom and attaches importance to forging a good working relationship with the media. He stressed that PPRB will continue playing the role as a "bridge" to facilitate communication between the police and the media.

"I'll continue strengthening communication and co-operation with the media, providing information and making responses at the right times. I hope that through media reports, members of the public will understand more about the work of the police," said Mr Li.

In addition, PPRB will continue reinforcing the links with different sectors of society, motivating community participation and encouraging the public to help and support the police in fighting crime.

Getting to know individual media representatives better is one of Mr Li’s first priorities of his new job
