Outgoing commandant inspects special parade |

The Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) provides quality and professional services to the public. Force members, whether regular or auxiliary, are good police officers if they get their jobs done. HKAPF Commandant Kwok Chi-shun said this on August 28 when he inspected a joint passing-out parade for members of the HKAPF Special Basic Training Course 2010 under the Auxiliary Undergraduate Scheme and Annual Continuation Training. "After years of effort following introduction of reforms in 1999, HKAPF is now on a par with the regular force in recruitment, training, appraisal, promotion and frontline work," he noted. Mr Kwok encouraged all auxiliary members to continue to serve with dignity, decency, dedication and diligence. He also emphasised the importance of enhancing the communication among auxiliary members as well as between the HKAPF and various sectors in the community. The Auxiliary Police Voluntary Service Cadre established during Mr Kwok's tenure provides services for voluntary organisations and the underprivileged. The Auxiliary Facilitator Scheme enhances communication among auxiliary members and promotes a healthy lifestyle. In recreation, the HKAPF Sports and Family Day strengthens the ties between auxiliary members and their families, and enhances the understanding and support of HKAPF by other disciplined forces and the public. Upon leaving the HKAPF after 33 years' service, Mr Kwok said he was very honoured and proud to have served as Commandant, and paid tribute to the work and contribution of his colleagues. He believed they would continue to dedicate their best efforts to the HKAPF, and endeavour to train up recruits.
