Hong
Kong Police Public Relations Branch,
I would like to give special compliment to Senior Constable 49269 for rendering commendable professional service to my wife and me near the junction of North Point Road and King's Road around 2:30pm to 3pm on October 19. I am from Singapore and my wife is a Permanent Resident of Hong Kong. We just arrived in Hong Kong on holiday, and had stayed in a hotel for barely a day on October 19, when my wife discovered that a substantial amount of funds was missing from her HSBC Bank account upon checking at the HSBC Bank branch in King's Road near our hotel. The HSBC Bank staff advised my wife to make a report to the police, and so we left the bank to look for a nearby police station. Upon leaving the bank, we approached a Hong Kong Police van parked on the opposite side of King's Road. Upon our approach, Senior Constable 49269 stepped out of the police van to render assistance. He was very professional in his service and advice, and was constantly very attentive to our every question. Senior Constable 49269's good advice gave my wife and me a very clear idea of the next steps to take in resolving my wife's missing bank funds case, and made us, being tourists in Hong Kong, feel very reassured that our case will be taken care of via the proper legal process in Hong Kong. This very experienced and capable Hong Kong Police officer even went beyond his call of duty to ask us if we had taken our lunch, and whether we needed any suggestions of where to eat after encountering our missing bank funds predicament. Hence, I would like to draw the attention of the Hong Kong Police Force to having such a capable police officer like Senior Constable 49269, whose professionalism is the pride of both the Force and Hong Kong as a whole. Warmest
regards
L. Yeo (Editor's Note: The officer is PC Chan Kai-ping of PSU 2 NPDIV)
