The Force hosted the 11th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Police and Security Forces Sports Exchange last month, further strengthening friendship and working relations with Guangdong and Macau. Officers from the Central People's Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong also took part in this annual sports event held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club and Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Po, from October 26 to 28. This three-day exchange saw intensive competition in shooting, basketball, distance run, table tennis and badminton. Force athletes won the championship in shooting and distance run while the Guangdong team captured the table tennis and badminton titles. By clinching the basketball title, Guangdong also emerged as the overall champion, edging out the Force by just one point. While the athletes were locked in fierce competitions, senior officers from the three Forces renewed their friendship in friendly matches. Following the opening ceremony, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tsang Wai-hung led the Hong Kong Officials' Team, which comprised one Senior Assistant Commissioner, two Assistant Commissioners and one Chief Superintendent, to win a friendly indoor rowing competition. The Senior Officers' Football Team, led by Commissioner Tang King-shing, played a friendly match with their counterparts from Guangdong and Macau, eventually winning the day with 4-0. At a farewell dinner, the top brass, senior officers and athletes of the three Forces marked the happy ending of their annual friendly gathering with a Chinese song, "Bright Future". ![]() |
