With the approach of the Year of the Rabbit, the Sham Shui Po community and officers of Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) were full of thoughts for Police Constable (PC) Chu Chun-kwok, who is receiving treatment in the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Tai Sin Hospital after being attacked by a suspect over five years ago. On January 19, the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po District Council, Mr Chan Tung, accompanied by Kowloon West Regional Commander Fan Sik-ming, Acting SSPODIST Commander David Grant, Cheung Sha Wan Divisional Commander Yeung Chui-mei, Police Welfare Officer To Ming-yin and many police officers from SSPODIST visited PC Chu to show their concern for his recovery. Though more than five years have lapsed, Mr Chan still clearly remembers what happened to PC Chu. When he learned that PC Chu was attacked on duty, he went to the scene immediately to see what had happened. He found it tragic that PC Chu was attacked and seriously wounded when he stopped and searched a suspect whilst on patrol. Mr Chan pointed out that the Sham Shui Po community was touched by PC Chu's dedication and devotion to duty. "Though it happened five years ago, the community and I are still very concerned about Chu Chun-kwok. We do give our full support to him and his family, and wish him an early recovery," he noted. Mrs Chu and her daughter are grateful for the support, encouragement and care given by the Force and the Sham Shui Po community. Saying goodbye to the visitors, Mrs Chu thanked the community for their Chinese New Year gift of a medical massager. "It's so warm and touching to feel your love and care," she exclaimed. Moreover, her daughter wrote a card to Mr Chan as a token of her thankfulness. All Force members are wishing PC Chu a speedy and full recovery. Sham
