The Force will take part in Education and Careers Expo 2011, which will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from February 17 to 20. Those interested in joining the Force or serving the community as auxiliary police officers are welcome to visit the police booth at the exhibition.

Building on the success of the police booth in previous Expos, Police Public Relations Branch and Recruitment Division will put in a great deal of effort and creativity to design the police booth this year. The booth will have a modern look and a "green" concept in design, with real plants behind the reception counter and blue sky at the ceiling. High-tech equipment (big LCD TV and electronic display panels) will be used to showcase the modern image of the Force as a professional work force dedicated to serving with pride and care.

One of the key features of the police booth will be a "Mini-shooting Range", where officers of Weapon Training Division will demonstrate the safe use of police weapons.

Furthermore, eight units of the Force - Police Dog Unit, Small Boat Unit, Emergency Unit, Traffic, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Narcotics Bureau, Airport Security Unit and Identification Bureau - will introduce their work and equipment at different sessions of the Expo.

Recruitment Division officers will man the police booth and process applications for the posts of Probationary Inspector, Police Constable and Auxiliary Police Constable. Initial screenings such as eye-sight test and weight and height measurements will be conducted on site. Career talk will also be held at 2.45 pm on February 19.

To tie in with publicity of the Expo, a "Recruitment Express" will be held at Recruitment Division on 13/F, Police Headquarters, from February 14 to 26.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the Police booth at Hall 1C-E of the HKCEC.
