Officers honoured at joint award presentation |

The Police Staff Suggestions and Motivation Schemes Award Presentation Ceremony 2011 was held at Police Headquarters on March 8, with Director of Management Services Tang How-kong attending as the officiating guest. Addressing the gathering, Mr Tang said: "This ceremony is the first joint event ever held by Service Quality Wing (SQW), Personnel Wing and Information Systems Wing (ISW). This innovative approach has created a benchmark for future award presentations, and reflected the joint effort and co-operation among Major Formations. In the face of a rapidly changing social environment in which we are operating, both the Force management and frontline officers need to continuously search for ways to enhance our service." The ceremony paid tribute to the competitions held by different Major Formations, including Police Staff Suggestions Scheme, Police Motivation Scheme, Financial Prudence Poster Design, Financial Prudence Creative Slogan Design, Information Security and Data Protection Screensaver Design and Civil Service Award. Impressed with the results of the competitions, Mr Tang said: "I am so happy to see the excellent effort of over 100 winners in promoting our Force Values and customer service. The winning designs will be used to produce Force-wide promotional items on 'Financial Prudence', while the winning screensavers will be used in all Force networked computer terminals." The "Prudent Family and Personal Financial Management Poster Design Competition and Creative Slogan Competition" was organised by the Staff Relations Group to raise Force members' awareness of the concept and culture of "Smart Family and Personal Financial Management". A total of 208 slogans and 43 posters were received, all demonstrating the creativity and artistic talents of the participants, whereby conveying a message on the importance of family and personal financial prudence. The "Force Computer Screen Saver Design Competition on Information Security and Data Protection" was launched by ISW to enhance Force members' awareness of Information Security and Data Protection, and to encourage the use of information technology to bring efficiency and effectiveness to the working environment within the Force. Various units, representing the Force, joined the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2011, including a composite team of SQW and PPRB for the Departmental Level - Service Enhancement Award; Marine Region for the Inter-Departmental Level - Partnership Award; and Yau Tsim District, New Territories South Headquarters, Force Search Unit, Internal Investigations Office, Communications Branch, Licensing Office, Police Negotiation Cadre, Crime Wing, Operations Wing, Kwai Tsing District and PPRB for the Other Team Awards. ![]() ![]() |
