From April 6 to 12, Service Quality Wing held a total of eight briefing sessions for over 250 officers from various Formations, including 181 facilitators at Chief Inspector rank, who will run JPO Cadre workshops in the second and third quarters of this year. The Living-the-Values Wave VII Workshops, which commenced in September last year, have been running smoothly with the Superintendent and Inspectorate Cadre Workshops concluding in November last year and March this year respectively. Both the facilitators and participants have considered the workshops as user-friendly, interesting and meaningful. For Wave VII workshops, it has been stressed that selection of enthusiastic and competent facilitators will have an impact on running of the workshops, and Formation Commanders were approached for nominating officers with the right calibre as facilitators. The briefing sessions, which were conducted in small groups, each with less than 30 facilitators, plus their assistants, aimed to enlist the facilitators' active participation in the Wave VII workshops. To further promote internal communication and support, Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung visited a briefing session on April 8 to give encouragement and support to the facilitators. During a coffee break, officers had a frank and open discussion with Mr Tsang on matters related to Force Values and Wave VII workshops under the theme of "Professionalism in the Changing World". Mr Tsang also showed his appreciation for the input by the facilitators and the contribution by frontline officers who had produced videos for the training package for the workshops. He said he was impressed by the excellent and realistic video-clips produced by frontline officers. "Especially the video on 'Father's Diary', which has captured an international award by outdoing many other entries all over the world. I'm sure the video can help officers get a better understanding of Force Values through sharing, discussion and self-reflection in the workshops," Mr Tsang noted. The facilitators enjoyed sharing personal stories and experiences with the Commissioner, and are well prepared for pushing the Wave VII workshops forward.
