Staff Relations Group (SRG) organised an "Away Day" to spend a fruitful afternoon with 30 representatives of the four staff associations at Police Sports and Recreation Club on March 28. SRG and representatives of the Superintendents' Association, Hong Kong Police Inspectors' Association, Overseas Inspectors' Association and Junior Police Officers' Association had a frank and fruitful exchange of views on how to enhance the partnership and communication between the Force management and staff associations. A number of issues were discussed, including the "Pay Adjustment 2011" and co-operation between the Force management and staff associations to project the positive image of the Force. The new Chief Superintendent (Personnel Services & Staff Relations), Mr So Kam-tong, took up his post on April 4. Being the former Senior Superintendent (Staff Relations), he is acquainted with the staff association representatives for a long time and both parties have established a long-term partnership. Three days after taking office, Mr So hosted a lunch gathering for representatives of the four staff associations to renew friendship and update himself on staff association matters. During the gathering, staff association chairmen and vice-chairmen took the opportunity to share with Mr So their associations' work and plans, enshrining the spirit of partnership within the Force. The representatives also pledged to continue working closely with SRG and Force management to further strengthen the well-established partnership and internal communication. Mr So thanked the staff association representatives for their continuous support and contribution to improving the welfare and conditions of service of Force members, and for playing the roles of a communication channel between the Force management and the staff side. He is confident that such partnership would bring about better welfare for Force members and project the Force's positive image. ![]() |
