The 8th International Symposium on Best Practices in Policing, held by the Dubai Police from March 28 to 31, attracted representatives from 16 police forces, including those from Australia, the United Kingdom (UK), Singapore, the Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, Germany and Hong Kong.

The symposium provided a platform for the police agencies to share their successful practices and experiences in various aspects of policing and offer awards to best practices in policing.

At the symposium, Woman Chief Inspector (WCIP) Lam Man-han of Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch briefed the participants on the background and development of the Force Integrity Management Framework and the initiatives taken under the Force Strategy on Integrity Management. Her presentation gave the audience a picture of the Integrity Management measures the Force has implemented over the years to ensure officers enshrine integrity. The presentation also gave the audience inspirations for improving the Integrity Management in their own agencies.

Amongst the 25 best practices shared by the participating police forces at the symposium, CIP Lam's presentation captured the Gold Award, indicating that the participants had high regard for the professional performance and high integrity of the Force.

The Silver and Bronze awards went to the City of London Police on "Using Advanced Technology to Combat e-Criminal" and Essex Police UK on "Neighbourhood Resolution - Increasing Public Confidence and Reducing Re-offender " respectively.
