Kowloon East (KE) Regional Commander Suen Kwai-leung presented Police Long Service Medals and Clasps, Long and Meritorious Service Badges for Traffic Warden, Commanding Officer's Commendation and retirement souvenirs to 73 serving and retired officers on May 13.
At the same time, Mr Suen also presented his Compliments Letters to 110 officers in recognition of their good work.
Amongst those awarded with Commanding Officer's Commendation and Compliments Letters, 86 came from crime units from Regional Headquarters or districts, indicating that their efforts to combat crimes were duly recognised. Among the crimes they had cracked, the more notable ones were two murders, prosecution of four notorious burglars and the subsequent application of a "Restraint Order" under the Organised and Serious Crime Ordinance, resulting in the confiscation of $1.2 million crime proceeds as well as the arrest of a culprit for two attempted robberies and an attempted indecent assault.
The efforts of the Uniformed Branch officers were also recognised. Three alerted PSU officers discovered a getaway vehicle and swiftly arrested the culprit of a robbery case, whilst a team of Task Force officers arrested two men red-handed for pickpocketing.
