The Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Council, Mr Lee Tak-hong, and Councillors Mr Choi Luk-sing, Mr Ho Hon-man, and Mr Yuen Kwok-keung have commended Wong Tai Sin District  (WTSDIST) for its achievement in combating crimes.

The officers commended included District Commander David Gunton, Deputy District Commander (Temp) Chan Kwok-kee, Police Community Relations Officer (Temp) Li Po-hung, and officers of Task Force Sub-unit and District Investigation Team. Many local residents joined the councillors in paying tribute to the officers.

Thanking the District Councillors and residents, Mr Gunton said: "Officers of Wong Tai Sin District have been taking effective measures to prevent and detect crime. Through our concerted effort, the local community is able to understand more about our policing strategies and the daily duties of frontline officers. This has further fostered the trust and relation between the police and the public."

Mr Chan added: "The commendation is a recognition of the achievements of our officers, and helps boost the morale of the whole district. We can also feel the trust of the public on us."

WTSDIST officers and District Fight Crime Committee members then gathered together and shared their views on crime trends and policing strategies, with everyone stressing the importance of police-public co-operation and community support for the fight against crime.
