Honorary College Advisor and Associate appointed

Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung presented Certificate of Appointment to a new Honorary College Advisor, Professor Eric Y.H. Tsui of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a new Honorary Associate, Superintendent (SP) Gilbert Wong, on August 30.

Prof Tsui is the Associate Director of the Knowledge Management Research Centre at his university, and Vice President of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society with expertise in Knowledge Management. SP Wong is currently the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Negotiation Cadre and the Chairman of the Carelinks Cadre. Both said it was an honour for them to serve as Honorary College Advisor and Honorary Associate and pledged to do their best for Police College.

The Honorary College Advisors and Associates (HCAA) Scheme began in January 2006 with a view to recruiting external (Advisors) and internal (Associates) experts to provide professional advice and conduct learning programmes for Police College. All HCAAs are appointed on a two-year term.

With the newly appointed Advisor and Associate, there are a total of 19 external experts and five police officers serving as HCAA. These experts bring in expertise in various fields, including leadership and strategic management, physical training, forensic science in document examination, law and court procedures, paramedic training, social and political sciences, negotiation skills, psychological competencies and knowledge management.
