India Association honours Yau Tsim officers

During celebration of the Independence Day of India on August 12, the India Association Hong Kong presented an Outstanding Police Officer Award to two officers from Yau Tsim District, Woman Inspector (WIP) Tse Yuk and Detective Senior Police Constable (DSPC) Cheung Pui-kwong.

The award was presented in recognition of the excellent services and contributions provided by the officers as well as their devotion to duties and professionalism. It is the fifth year the association has offered the award for the District's long-term commitment to bolstering close relationships with different sectors of the community, including the Non-ethnic Chinese.

WIP Tse has been commended for dealing with vice activities as a member of the District Special Duties Squad, while DSPC Cheung for investigating an industrial accident, in which six workers were killed whilst clearing construction material at a construction site.

The award presentation ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chairman of the Legislative Council, Mr Tsang Yuk-sing; Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Mr Lam Woon-kong; Consul General of India, Mr Gaddam Dharmendra, local dignitaries and members of the Indian community. Also present were Director of Management Services Tang How-kong, Kowloon West Regional Commander Fan Sik-ming and Yau Tsim District Commander Wong Kwok-wai.
