Police Dragon Boat Race in aid of young cancer patients
The Police Dragon Boat Charity Race 2011 will be held at Shing Mun River on October 15. The Police Dragon Boat Club takes this opportunity to thank Major Formations and Formations for supporting this annual event. A total of 68 teams have signed up for the race in which they will be joined by teams from Singapore Police Force and Macao Judicial Police. Junior Police Call members from different districts will also pitch in for this exciting and meaningful event.
The beneficiary of the charity race is Little Life Warrior Society (www.hkllws.org). The society was found in 2002 to foster the communication and mutual support among children cancer patients, their parents and medical staff. The society will also arrange community programmes to enhance awareness of children cancers.
The Executive Committee members of the Police Dragon Boat Club attended the society's annual gathering in Prince of Wales Hospital on August 27. They were very impressed with the children cancer patients' determination to survive and live a full life.
