DIT 5 the best in WCHDIST
To further boost morale and pay recognition of the hard work of its crime busters, Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) has recently selected District Investigation Team (DIT) 5 as "The Best DIT of Wan Chai District".
The selection was based on DIT 5's exemplary performance between March and September this year. Despite a heavy workload, the team members displayed tenacity and handled casework meticulously. Pursuing every lead and carrying out detailed analyses, they have succeeded in cracking many cases, a notable example being detection of a money-laundering case involving $530 000 in March this year - the result of remarkable teamwork and professionalism.
The team also has received commendations by Regional Commander Hong Kong Island and WCHDIST Commander on many occasions.
Speaking at an award presentation ceremony, WCHDIST Commander Lam Man-sai said she was impressed by DIT 5 members' conscientiousness towards duties and professionalism because crime investigation is "a very tough job". She also encouraged other officers to keep up their good work and strive for more and better results.
The Officer-in-Charge of DIT 5, Inspector Hung Fan-hong, has called on his teammates to "work your best, support your teammates and set a good example with your own conduct".
Meanwhile WCHDIST has seen a great improvement in crime detection and prevention after forming Crime Investigation Units (CIUs) in March this year. The CIUs, with flexible deployment of manpower and resources, help distribute workload evenly, enabling DITs to focus on their core duties and achieve a higher detection rate.
