Dear Sir/Madam,

I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to a few police officers for assisting me in finding my daughter on August 27, 2011.

When my children and I were taking MTR at Kowloon Tong station, the door closed right after my son and I got in the train, leaving my daughter at the platform. We got off the train at the next station and took another train back to Kowloon Tong station immediately. But my daughter couldn't be found at the platform any more. As my daughter has never been left alone at a place she's not familiar with and she may have trouble finding her way back home, I contacted MTR control room immediately. One officer asked about the incident and my daughter's characteristics. A few teams were quickly formed to search for my daughter at the MTR stations where my daughter most likely could be. Within 15-20 minutes, a police officer located my daughter at Hang Hau MTR station.

I was very impressed with the care, patience, and professional performance of all the officers involved. As I was in panic, I didn't remember any information of the police officer who assisted me at Kowloon Tong station and organised the entire search effort. If you could locate that officer and express my gratitude to him, I'd be very grateful.

I'd like to thank the police officer who located my daughter at Hang Hau MTR station. His staff number is 5117. He is apparently talented in identifying persons based on abstract description. His sunny smile and patience towards children certainly has helped reducing my daughter's anxiety when she's waiting for me in MTR control room. There was also a very friendly female police officer who kept my daughter company.

Last, but not the least, I'd like to thank the police officer who accompanied me all the way from Kowloon Tong station to Hang Hau station to meet with my daughter. His staff number is 20823. He was kind and helpful.

Overall, I'm very impressed by the quality of Hong Kong police officers' service. Although I only encountered a few police officers, their outstanding performance is the testimony of the excellent leadership and teamwork of the entire police force.

I enclosed three thank-you notes to the police officers I mentioned in the letter. If those cards can be delivered to them, I'd really appreciate it!
