The Carelinks Cadre is inviting Force members, including discipline, civilian and auxiliary staff, to join its fold to serve their peers in need of help. Psychological Services Group (PSG) set up the cadre on July 9, 2005. Exemplifying the spirits of "Care", "Linkage" and "Esprit de Corps", the cadre is composed of Force volunteers and disciplined and civilian members at all ranks to promote healthy lifestyles and caring culture within the Force and render peer support. Officers appointed as Carelinkers will help Force members to enhance their psychological well-being with a wide range of peer support services such as peer counselling, self-development groups for Probationary Inspectors and Recruit Police Constables at Police College, peer support helpline, mental health in the Healthy Lifestyle Carnival, "book corner" on mental health in Force Library, and workshops. New Carelinkers will receive training offered by PSG and mental health professionals on basic psychology, peer counselling skills, mental health knowledge, and critical incident psychological support service. To answer questions on cadre's recruitment and services, a briefing session will be held in the Multi-Purpose Hall, 8th Floor, Police Headquarters on December 15 and Artroom, Police Sports and Recreation Club on January 7 for Force members interested in joining the cadre. Selection of Carelinkers will be conducted in March 2012. Recruitment details have been posted on the Force NoticeBoard. |
